Sarah’s love for somatics and bodywork began in 2004 during her two years living in Bangkok, Thailand. She was first introduced to yoga and Thai Massage and has been a student of various bodywork styles for many years since, and enjoys sharing and bringing her passion for body-mindfulness to others. She received her Level 1 Certification, as well as her Hands-Free Certification for Thai Yoga Massage in early 2017. Many thanks and reverence to her teachers in this practice, Jennifer Yarro and Joshua Jayintoh.
A Thai Yoga Massage, also known as “Lazy Man’s Yoga”, is a treatment given on a mat, on the floor, while the receiver remains fully clothed. No oils are used. Thai Yoga Massage is an ancient healing art that combines the alignment of the breath, yoga asana and mindfulness meditation of Metta (loving compassion) into a flowing dance of continuous rhythmic motion to deliver a soothing and revitalizing experience. TYM is based on an understanding of energy lines and marma points in the body, working with balancing the energetic bodies and freeing & removing any blockages that may present in the physical, mental, emotional bodies. A session of TYM results in restoring a healthy, balanced energetic flow to the recipient. It is a complete therapeutic treatment on its own, and may also be incorporated into other modalities of massage or into yoga classes.
