Katie McCluskey is a 21 year old dancer, choreographer, and teacher. As a performer she has a wide variety of abilities, and is a powerful force on stage and on screen. Behind the scenes, Katie aims to be a supportive team member, and always offer help when needed. With many years of perfecting her art behind her, this has opened doors for a path within choreography and dance education as she continues to train in many styles.
Katie is currently a senior receiving her BFA at the University of Arizona School of Dance, where she had the opportunity to be a soloist and perform many various styles of works, such as contemporary, jazz, modern, and pointe. Katie comes from a studio background in Kansas City, and is very passionate about bringing back dance education from her travels since the time she graduated in 2017. She has studied William Forsythe and Crystal Pite at Orsolina 28 in Moncalvo, Italy, was apart of SoulEscape the Company Intensive in Plano, TX, she was a mentee with Giordano Dance Chicago in Chicago, IL, and was a member of Seamless Dance Company in her hometown for 4 years, moving up from apprentice to soloist of the company within 2 years.
Katie is extremely passionate about making dance more of an appreciated art within society. As a young dancer she aims to help bridge the gap between concert and commercial dance within the industry. Now more than ever, it is important that we utilize dance to its full potential to reflect our lives and emotions. By holding onto the traditions of the theater while utilizing technology to reach a wider audience, dance can be more accessible than ever.
