Ari Fine: Dance Artist Avon, OH
What Moves You? People – How we can rely on, spark joy with, explore with, and uplift each other to create movement that speaks to audiences no matter how different we all are. Creating joy through dance is what moves me.
Ari is a graduate of The Ohio State University where she received a BFA in Dance. During her time at Ohio State, Ari performed in works such as Dido and Aeneas, choreographed by Susan Van Pelt Petry, and in works by Daniel Roberts and several MFA/BFA students. Ari studied abroad in 2018 with the OSU Dance Tour group to Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, performing repertory pieces choreographed by Crystal Michelle Perkins, Daniel Roberts, Janet Schroeder, Lexi Stilianos, and more. Ari was a member of The Club Dance Team at Ohio State, which competed nationally at NDA Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida, annually. Ari also studied abroad to London/Paris based off of a course on leadership in the community and cultural exchange. Ari’s senior project consisted of choreographing, staging, and teaching weekly classes for dancers ages 12-17 at Columbus Modern Dance Company, under the direction of Laura Puscas. Last December, Ari performed at Lincoln Center for the Keenan Fellowship Performance under the choreography of Tierney Sorensen. This summer, Ari graduated from Broadway Dance Center’s Training Program, where she focused on Street Styles and expanding her knowledge in other dance forms. In October, Ari was fortunate to perform for ABC TV’s Annual Columbus Day Parade, learning traditional Italian dances. Ari has been Greek Folk dancing since she was little, and continues to dance these traditional dances at social events. Ari is currently based in NYC, teaching/assisting dance classes for children in a wide range of styles. Ari hopes to continue performing and training in an array of dance forms, and gain even more performance experience. She is so grateful for all performance and teaching opportunities that dance and her teachers/mentors/peers have provided her with.
