Danielle Mumpower: Dancer/Storyteller
What Moves You?
“People and the stories they keep. If we aren’t telling stories and helping shape the world, then what is it all for?”
A resident of NYC for four fabulous years, I originally hail from Bristol, VA/TN where I studied ballet for 16 years with Jo Rosser at Ballet Art Academy. I am a graduate from ETSU with a B.A. In theatre and minor in dance, training under the incomparable Cara Harker who pushed me to achieve the Judith Woodruff Award for Excellence in Dance. Since moving to NYC, I have performed in venues throughout the city and East coast including a sold out run of Roadkill at IRT Theater with choreographers and creators Lauren Lasorda and Tali Custer, and the premier of Raiz with Silva Dance Company at the Martha Graham Theatre and the Houston Brazilian Festival in 2013. I have studied various forms of dance, from African to Aerial! I really enjoy bring theatre and dance together to tell a story. I am a member of Improbable Stage, Checkit Dance, and House of the Roses, A Volunteer Dance Company bringing dance to community centers and homeless shelters all over the city.
